Slipknot-Duality (lyrics in description)
this is the sound track we used in out film, we chose this because it is fast paced and we thought it draws to into the film so it buils tension
Monday, 25 April 2011
this video was the first video for A2 to try out random editing shots hump cuts to different areas, this was a exsperement on editing and using differnt camrea shots. we made it so that whatever door I entered I would be in a different room which changed to a completely different room in the door colour, hence the title. This was practice for when it came to our final product. It was fun to make and also to make because we had to plan what door to enter and exit from, fortunately for us the corridor we were in had a series of doors which when edited together made it seem as though it was correct timing and work together well
Representations of Characters
The zombies were represented as slow paced monotone cadavers, I wanted them to be like this because of the classic George A Romero's dawn of the dead. I made it so that the entire school was completely evacuated so that it gave the effect of an authentic apocalyse. the students that were represented were shown as harden characters because of the apocalypse,Charlie, the main character is a distorted character because of what the zombies had done to his life in the past, leaving him a broken character who is scared of the zombies but wants to destroy them for what they did so he wants to tke revenge. This I thought would be interesting because of the previous zombie films we watch this type of character always appears a lot older and more run down than the other characters. we made it so that this main character is the one to finish of the trailer by dispatching a zombie.
The other character, Jack was made to appear wiser than the Charlie becuase he hasn't had the experience of charlies past storys. jack is a quiet person but also known as a smart character and knows what he is doing.

Story Board Intro for Film
The very begining of the trailer there will be credits and titles e.g i was thinking of who its is made by e.g universal, possibly find a intro and use that into for our film.
Image 2 - about 1 second long for each part, editing called montage editing random shots but they all link together. - over the shoulder camera shot - also i was thinking about having a voice over to introduce the film or it could be to warn viewers or warning people in the film
Image 3 - breaking news - news report green screen and then use a background of a news report scene to make it look real make it look like a bbc studio or sky news.
In between each shot there is cut then tv noise like person is changing the channel or the tv is malfuctioning. voice over contious through out the whole intro, got to write script to be about 20 secounds long.
Image 4 - zombie inside a car, from the zombie walk again, camera moving towards the car, like it is filming. voice over continues
Image 5 - another news reporter giving a speech but playing in the background quietly with the voice over continouing over the top. - 1 secound - medium shot - famous mp to make the film look more real for example david cameron, borris johnson, BBC presenters.

Zombie type films i think could be aimed at anyone in the media. With these type films i think they are aimed at teenagers ages 14 - 18, teenage boys. I think this because zombies are a made up character, it is imature and not believable, this meaning adults are mature and wouldnt enjoy these type film they would go for more thriller action films because it more mature.
The reason the audience it would be typical that it would be boys that watch these types of films is because teenagers tend to have a mind of there own, boys tend to think of viloence, fighting, shooting because they may be interested into video games such as Left for Dead and Dead Rising.

Camera angles
Most of these zombie films follow the same type of shots.
The camera shots that are used in most films are shots such as,
Panning shot, is when the camera is moving around the scence showing you the location
Extreme long shots, these shots are generally used as a scene setting, establishing shot.
Long shots, this kind of shot includes the whole of the human figure in the scene which the head and feet are near the edge of the camera shot , this can be used to establish the character.
Medium shots, this shot is mainly used from waist up, mainly the character speaking or some sort of diolouge is spoken.
Close up Shot - This shows very little background, and concentrates on either a face, or a detail in the scene. This kind of camera angle would be to show the characters expressions or tense moments. -
High angles, generally to show the character in the different way to make he or she look small
Low angle, this shot is mainly used to make an object or the character in the scene look bigger than it or they really are

Land of the Dead Trailer
Land of the dead
Horror This film was re-made from the film land of the dead in the year 1986
At the start of watching the film you watch the dead has an unknown reason. These zombies multiplied rapidly by infecting more and more people making new victims everyday. Several years later, the dead greatly outnumber the living. Many of the living in the lower parts on the country have moved into the city of Pittsburgh, where the soldiers has trying to hold off the horde. Bordered on three sides by three rivers and on the other by an electric barricade, the city has become a sanctuary against the undead threat. Fiddler's Green, the center of this city, is where the rich and powerful live in luxury while the rest of the population lives in poverty. Paul Kaufman rules the city with an iron fist and overwhelming firepower.
Kaufman financed the construction of Dead Reckoning, a heavily armored vehicle that can venture out into the world of the dead with relative ease. Armed with remote-controlled external heavy machine guns and video cameras to spot zombies on the sides, Dead Reckoning primarily functions as a moving fireworks display base: zombies are fascinated by fireworks, and, just like humans, will stare gaping at them while ignoring the humans moving through the streets around them. Riley Denbo both the designer and commander of Dead Reckoning, has recently retired. Unlike Kaufman, Denbo is respected by the citizens of the city for his work in protecting them from danger, as well as bringing them critical food and medical supplies, things which they can no longer acquire themselves. This is the purpose of "Dead Reckoning" and the teams that accompany it.
Shaun Of The Dead Trailer

Shaun of the Dead is a British zombie comedy which came out in 2004. This film is directed by Edgar Wright.
The plot of the film at the start of the film what happens is Shaun is working in an electrical store and he works with people that show him no self respect, Shaun has a best friend called Ed which is always at home he lives on the couch. In the film what we see is that Shaun’s girlfriend Liz isn’t happy with him because of there social life which she explains she doesn’t like going to Shaun’s favorite pub in Winchester every night, and she doesn’t like the fact they never do things alone with each other. After his day at his work, Shaun gets stopped on the road by an old friend Yvonne and she asks him what he and Liz are doing for their anniversary, that question made him realize that he forgot to book a table at the restaurant he promised to Liz the previous night. Faced with this failure on Shaun's part, Liz decides she's had enough and breaks up with him.
This film i watched i thought was a good example of a zombie comedy. what makes this a zonbie comedy is that it isnt taken as seriously what

Zombieland - Official Trailer [HD]
Zombie land
Horror comedy
Directed by: Ruben Fleischer
Horror/Comedy
2009
About zombie land:
The film is set in an America. Two months after a mutated of cow disease turns humans into zombies. College student Columbus is on his way to Ohio to see if his parents if they are still alive. He loses his car in an accident and encounters Tallahassee, who is on a quest to find the last Twinkies on Earth. They travel together and when they stop at a grocery store and they meet two sisters. The sisters trick them into handing over their weapons and they steal the two guy’s vehicle. Later on in the film the two men find another truck loaded with weapons, but when they meet the girls again, the girls attempt once more to steal their truck. Columbus proposes to travel together and they all get on.
This film has lots of elements from a zombie film, it is a zombie film turned into a parody. In the film for example at the beginning the establishing shot, it looks like a actual horror film they show the zombies attacking people. Soon as we see the first character we realise and what he acts like we soon realise it isn’t taken as seriously.

My Inspiration
I wanted to do this particular genre because i have already watched a lot of zombie and horror based films. I thought it would be the best idea and also it would appel to me, as i already have a realistic veiw of how a zombie film works. Also i thought it would be a challenge to do a zombie film as i have noticed there really havent been many people made these types of film for there project at A2.
Other inspirations came from just listening to music and visualising the entire trailer in my head, what camera shots used e.g. lower angles over the sholder meduim shot for the action establishing the characters etc, and how it could fit together even know alot of zombie trailers have montage editing. another ideas came from songs I listen to, such as rock music and upbeat songs because everything is fast moving quck editing, alot happening in one scene. tweaked bits in my head and once I had finished day dream I used to always remember when it came to a memory seen that day.
